About the author

James "JD" Armstrong

James "JD" Armstrong is a horror and thriller author residing in Perth, Western Australia. Born in Melbourne, he began telling imaginative stories from a young age and started writing them down at just 9 years old. Though he explores many genres, JD's writing often blurs the lines with elements of horror and suspense.

After a lifelong passion for storytelling, JD decided to finally publish a collection of his short fiction following a near-death experience in 2015. This compilation titled "Do You Dare?" contains 10 terrifying yet beautifully crafted tales written over the past 20 years. Already garnering enthusiastic reactions from readers for the unpredictable twists and surprisingly sympathetic antagonists, this first book promises to be just the start for the up-and-coming author.

JD's next work, "Double Dare," features three new spine-tingling stories: "Hotel California" about a desert hotel imprisoning guests in their darkest fears, "Santa's Snow Globe" exploring a bitter Santa hellbent on returning to unleash vengeance, and "The Peripheral Watchers" documenting one man's obsession with confronting the soul-stealing Shadow People.

With early writing inspirations like Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Anne Rice, it's no wonder JD's vivid stories stay with you long after turning the last page. Now balancing writing with single fatherhood, JD continues to live without regret, crafting genuinely scary yet thoughtful fiction that makes you think twice about what lurks within the human psyche.
